Summer is just around the corner here in California so that means cool mornings, hot days, and cooler night temperatures and these kinds of temperatures can be hard to dress for. I am going to introduce you to a brand that I recently became acquainted with Love Ur Look London and today I am sharing the beautiful 1950s Atomic Dress that has become one of my go-to dresses for summer.
The team over at Lady Voluptuous keeps amazing me with each season as they come out with the prettiest of wrap dresses- the Lyra dress. I love the Lyra dresses because they look spectacular on a wide variety of body shapes and available in sizes 14-32 UK and are made from high quality fabrics. I love the Lyra’s fit, because it is a wrap dress it fits my bust perfectly and gives me a very feminine silhouette. I feel well dressed and beautiful.
A fit and flare dress is universally flattering on a number of body shapes while making legs look longer and showing off your waist. This aqua blue beauty with a stunning border print of San Francisco in particular from retailer Modcloth in collaboration with one of my favorite vintage-style brands Collectif Clothing made me swoon from the first moment I saw the Collectif MC Golden State of Mind A-Line Dress online.
Living in the Bay Area this dress was an absolute must for me!! It arrived very quickly and I could not wait to put it on and shoot it for you all. I was not sure exactly which size to order but I followed the online size guide to fit my bust and am wearing the dress in size 20 (UK) and it fits my curves perfectly. Dress is available in sizes 4 (UK) – 28 (UK). It is so wonderful that Modcloth has beautiful clothing for us plus size gals. There is room for my ample bust, it has pockets, and the skirt is so full and gives me such a feminine silhouette and makes me want to twirl, twirl, twirl.
I love a visit to our local pumpkin patch and can’t wait till October 1st rolls around as that is when Hales Apple Farm in Sebastopol, CA is all setup and open to the public. I very carefully plan my pumpkin patch outfit as my hubby and I take lots of pics.
This might just be the only pencil skirt you’ll find me in. Long time readers of my blog know I am a swing skirt kinda gal. Let’s dive right in this skirt review and talk about the boarder print…those fabulous rainbow hued colored pencils!! Yep, it’s the rainbow pencils that caught my eye and I could not wait to get this skirt on and shoot it. The skirt is by ModCloth, not a brand I typically wear but this boarder print was just too good. I read some of the online reviews and was a little concerned about sizing as the reviews were all over the place. I ordered per the size chart and am so glad I did, as the fit is perfection. The skirt is made of cotton and breathes and has enough room in the waist to be very comfortable.

This skirt is very well made and includes a liner. It is an A-line cut and has pockets. The shape, being A-line did not work with a petticoat so I was a little saddened that I would not be able to wear a variety of colors with it but, the shape and fit are totally on-point. And those rainbow pencils, my oh my, in-person they are even brighter and more brilliant!! I paired the skirt with a berry colored top and belt to nip in my waist. This skirt allows for so many tops and cardigans and couldn’t be any simpler to style. Since I am more of a vintage/retro Pinup Girl I went with that theme and even added a matching hair tie. The skirt is so incredibly versatile and can be dressed up or down with a blouse and accessories. You can also pair it with a variety of colorful shoes!! I will next be wearing this with a turquoise blue (my favorite color) top and matching accessories so stay tuned. Finally, the perfect Fall Pinup Girl dress is mine!! I was so excited when the Aimee Dress in Sunshine Daisy print arrived from Heart of Haute.The print grabbed me right away with those daisies in fabulous pops of bright colors and I immediately knew this would be my go-to Fall dress. The colors are perfect in shades of orange, yellow and green against a black backdrop. I want to call your attention to the cut and style of the Heart of Haute Aimee with its gathered sweetheart bodice, form fitting darts, A line skirt and hidden back zipper that is complete with a matching belt. I absolutely love the way the Heart of Haute Aimee fits my curves, especially my bust giving such a nice shape. I am wearing the Aimee in a size 1X to accommodate my bust and the waist has quite a bit of room so it is very nice the dress comes with an attached tie belt.

The dress is 100% cotton and very comfortable. A perfect dress to take you from 9-5pm and 5-9pm. As the weather cools a bit adding a cardigan or a Heart of Haute Sweet Sweater will be perfect and just think of all the color combinations you can do. Heart of Haute makes beautiful clothes and the Aimee is very well done with a feminine silhouette. I want all the Aimee’s, they do come in many different colors and prints. I am so sad to have missed out on the Tulip print Aimee but it sold out so quickly in my size, I won’t be making that mistake again!!
