If you’ve been following my blog for a while you know how much I love color. I love bright and bold colors and pastels too. Wearing color energizes me and gives me life!! My sweet hubby Gary and I did a photoshoot recently on how to wear a rainbow 🌈 where I mixed and matched cardigans, shoes, hair bows, and earrings with dress.
June is here and that means summertime!! I am really looking forward to summer and the seasonal change and yes, the fun summer dresses too. I like sunshine and warm weather (not too hot) but summertime in California is beautiful, especially where we live in gorgeous wine country. The vineyards are in full-bloom and lush with grapes and one of my favorite things to see are the manicured rows of vineyards on the rolling hills. Well this is a great segway into my post today as my sweet hubby Gary and I went over to the world famous Korbel winery for our photoshoot and everything was starting to bloom for summer.
I was excited to wear the new Art Nouveau jewelry collection from Erstwilder and just love the colors in my Royal Eye peacock colored plume necklace and Royal Eye brooch as they are stunning and really bring out the colors of my dress (dress is from Heart of Haute) and perfect for body positive curvy girls. Erstwilder works with the most talented designers and creators and the new collection really brings out the ornamental style, colors, and curved formats of the Art Nouveau style. Look how amazing my Le Chat Noir brooch is!! Hurry on over to Erstwilder and snap up your favorites because they do sell out fast!![Read more…]
A few years ago Gary and I took a trip to Lake Como, Italy. The Lake Como region is absolutely stunning and we got to see elegant palazzos, gorgeous villas, explore several of the small towns that span up and down the lake, experience lovely lakeside restaurants and take in stunning lake views almost everywhere we’d look. What we ate at these lakeside restaurants was pizza. We are pizza lovers by nature so getting to indulge in pizza almost everyday of our trip was one big dream come true. We can remember that every town had their own take and way of making pizza and the ingredients would be different. If you liked pepperoni for example, your pizza would have different pepperoni (small pepperoni slices, or larger slices, or small and spicy slices) depending on the little town you were at. This really intrigued us. I wish today we had documented more of those experiences (we have a lot of photos of the beautiful locations, but back then it wasn’t as acceptable to whip out your iPhone and take pictures of your meal for social media like it is today so, only a few of those photos exist) but hopefully one day soon (when the pandemic is gone) we can re-take that magical Lake Como vacation and document all the pizzas for you.
The one thing that hasn’t changed is our love and enjoyment of pizza. And, we have quite a few pizza places right here in our wonderful city by the bay San Francisco that we can share with you. In fact, you will find a monthly series on my blog “The Great San Francisco Pizza Tour of 2021” where I’ll be sharing our pizza adventures with you all as we search for the best pizza in San Francisco so sit back and enjoy and apologies in advance if these posts make you hungry.[Read more…]
Saturday, January 30, 2021 my sweet hubby Gary and I decided to head into San Francisco and spend a fun day in the city. It’s the first time since before March 2020 that we’ve been in downtown San Francisco because everything went into lockdown due to the Covid pandemic. Just 2 days ago the Governor started allowing some businesses to reopen and outdoor dining to resume but we are still in the purple tier so the utmost precautions, masks, and social distancing is a must.
It had rained that morning but was already drying out with sunshine starting to come through as we made the 50 mile drive into the city. The drive was pretty quiet. Not too much traffic as folks appeared to still be staying home for the most part. The blue sky was brilliant and the sun was out as we made our way over the Golden Gate Bridge.[Read more…]
It’s the loveliest time of the year, and I am not talking about the holidays but about sweater weather. I love soft and cozy sweaters and look forward to this time of year when there is a chill in the air and the Christmas season is just around the corner. Today I am sharing my baby blue sweater from Revolve by Majorelle.
Oranges, reds, yellows, greens, black, wine, and even shades of pink are just some of the gorgeous autumnal colors nature creates for us to enjoy. This post is all about sharing some of these standout colors that I like to call eye candy because they evoke a pop of sweet joy when I wear them and see them.
A black dress can certainly be appropriate for Fall especially when it has a print as beautiful as this one with orangey-reds and turquoise blue-green. This dress is the Trixie Midnight Lily Swing Dress from Collectif Clothing in the UK. The dress is made from high quality cotton sateen and has a lovely sweetheart neckline and fitted waist for the 1940s-1950s bombshell look I love. The sleeves are ¾ and perfect for Fall time here in San Francisco.
My feline friendly outfit is another Fall favorite of mine. I love novelty prints and the border print on this skirt has the most adorable kitty cats. The skirt started off as a dress that ended up being too small and wouldn’t go over my chest so I had a seamstress convert it into a skirt for me and now I can wear it often. I like the green color of the skirt and paired it here with a bright orange sweater, leopard print purse and dark brown cardigan and I feel like I am wearing several autumnal colors in one outfit!![Read more…]
