Oranges, reds, yellows, greens, black, wine, and even shades of pink are just some of the gorgeous autumnal colors nature creates for us to enjoy. This post is all about sharing some of these standout colors that I like to call eye candy because they evoke a pop of sweet joy when I wear them and see them.
A black dress can certainly be appropriate for Fall especially when it has a print as beautiful as this one with orangey-reds and turquoise blue-green. This dress is the Trixie Midnight Lily Swing Dress from Collectif Clothing in the UK. The dress is made from high quality cotton sateen and has a lovely sweetheart neckline and fitted waist for the 1940s-1950s bombshell look I love. The sleeves are ¾ and perfect for Fall time here in San Francisco.
My feline friendly outfit is another Fall favorite of mine. I love novelty prints and the border print on this skirt has the most adorable kitty cats. The skirt started off as a dress that ended up being too small and wouldn’t go over my chest so I had a seamstress convert it into a skirt for me and now I can wear it often. I like the green color of the skirt and paired it here with a bright orange sweater, leopard print purse and dark brown cardigan and I feel like I am wearing several autumnal colors in one outfit!!
Get ready for some hauntingly cute Halloween jewelry from the 2020 Erstwilder and Kitschy Witch Designs collaboration. I am so excited to have partnered with Erstwilder for this spooktacular collection and it will no doubt sell out very quickly so if you see any pieces you like then hurry on over to Erstwilder and snap up what you can!!
I adore the Cursed Cuppa brooch set. It is actually two separate brooches that make up this set. A fabulous teapot with an owl and a teacup decorated with stars and moons and both pieces are dimensional and done up in the perfect Halloween colors of orange, black and purple. I love how this collection also has special artwork for the box from Kitschy Witch Designs and Erstwilder. When you turn the box over there is also a cute little witch!!
It’s the first time I am featuring the brand Trashy Diva on my blog. I have seen their lovely 1940s style dresses many times on social media and thought their designs were gorgeous. I was excited when the opportunity came to review the Victory Floral Blanche dress.
I had long admired the Victory Floral design with its true 1940s style and pattern of navy blue with brilliant florals in stunning golden yellows, lavender, and burgundy red and green colors. I chose the Blanche style, which is a wrap dress, and if you have been reading my blog you know how much I love wrap style dresses. This dress also has great attention to detail in its design with a vintage-style ruffle neckline and tiered A-line shape. The fabric too is exceptional quality being a knit cotton. The dress is incredibly light and comfortable. Also, the colors in the pattern provide so many styling options.
Summer is nearly here and the weather out here in California has been heating right up. I just love the sweet red cherry collectibles from the 1940s-1950s; everything from vintage kitchen salt and pepper shakers, mixing bowls, shelf paper and trim to the vintage cherry tablecloths and of course vintage cherry Bakelite brooches and the bathing suites from that era. I am definitely looking for vintage cherry collectibles!!
