It’s that time of year again! The leaves are changing color and the air is starting get cooler here in California. That can only mean one thing: leaf peeping season is here! For those who don’t know, leaf peeping is the term for admiring the changing leaves in autumn. Although New England is where leaf peeping really happens, we also have some changing colors here in Northern California too. Every year, thousands of people flock to the vineyards in our region to see the leaves in all their glory.

The Weather is Perfect!! One of the best things about Napa Valley in the fall is the weather. During the summer months, it can get quite hot in Napa Valley. However, temperatures start to cool down in September and October, making it the perfect time to visit if you want to enjoy comfortable weather.

Another great thing about visiting Napa Valley in the fall is that you’ll get to see the leaves changing color. The vineyards and wineries are especially beautiful during this time of year as the leaves turn from green to shades of red and orange.
If you’re looking to avoid crowds, then fall is also a great time to visit Napa Valley. While the region does get busy during harvest season (which typically runs from August through October), things start to calm down again once November rolls around. So if you want to experience Napa Valley without all the crowds, plan your trip for sometime between November and March.

Harvest season is just about over here in Northern California and the beautiful Napa Valley. The vineyards are beautiful this time of year and I wanted to visit and do a photoshoot with all the glorious fall foliage. My feline friendly outfit is another Fall favorite of mine. I love novelty prints and the border print on this skirt has the most adorable kitty cats. The skirt started off as a dress that ended up being too small and wouldn’t go over my chest so I had a seamstress convert it into a skirt for me and now I can wear it often. I like the green color of the skirt and paired it here with a bright orange sweater, leopard print purse and dark brown cardigan and I feel like I am wearing several autumnal colors in one outfit!!
This is a bittersweet post for me. We shot these pictures the day before another horrific wildfire broke out in California’s beautiful wine country. Although we are very fortunate and beyond grateful to still have a home, hundreds of people are not and so many businesses and world famous wineries burnt down. For those not familiar with this latest wildfire it is the Glass Fire in Napa/Calistoga, California.
It was a warm and glorious Autumn day and we drove out to our local vineyards for a Fall photoshoot. I wanted to wear a colorful dress because I felt so happy and never tired of the beautiful vineyard views. Many vineyards are currently in harvesting mode here but we managed to find some that still had lush grapes hanging on the vine!!

This was a fun photoshoot in the beautiful California vineyards that turned tragic with the Glass Fire. The fire has been burning for over 1 week now, over 65,000 acres burned. Our frontline responders and all the firefighters are doing such a tremendous job and they are all so courageous!! We can thank them enough!! Hoping the fire is under control very soon and everyone will be safe.
