It’s that time of year again! The leaves are changing color and the air is starting get cooler here in California. That can only mean one thing: leaf peeping season is here! For those who don’t know, leaf peeping is the term for admiring the changing leaves in autumn. Although New England is where leaf peeping really happens, we also have some changing colors here in Northern California too. Every year, thousands of people flock to the vineyards in our region to see the leaves in all their glory.
Why We Love Leaf Peeping Season
There’s just something about fall that makes us feel nostalgic. Maybe it’s the memories of going back to school or participating in fall sports. Or maybe it’s because fall is such a beautiful time of year. Whatever the reason, there’s no denying that leaf peeping season is a special time. Here are a few reasons why we love it so much:
Wine enthusiasts, listen up! Napa Valley, Northern California’s world-renowned wine haven, is calling your name, and there’s no better time to answer that call than during the fabulous fall season! As the grape leaves turn to a symphony of autumn hues, Napa Valley transforms into an enchanting wonderland that’s perfect for wine lovers and nature enthusiasts alike. Let’s explore why fall is the ultimate season for experiencing the true essence of Napa Valley’s charm.
The Weather is Perfect!! One of the best things about Napa Valley in the fall is the weather. During the summer months, it can get quite hot in Napa Valley. However, temperatures start to cool down in September and October, making it the perfect time to visit if you want to enjoy comfortable weather.
Another great thing about visiting Napa Valley in the fall is that you’ll get to see the leaves changing color. The vineyards and wineries are especially beautiful during this time of year as the leaves turn from green to shades of red and orange.
If you’re looking to avoid crowds, then fall is also a great time to visit Napa Valley. While the region does get busy during harvest season (which typically runs from August through October), things start to calm down again once November rolls around. So if you want to experience Napa Valley without all the crowds, plan your trip for sometime between November and March.
Whether you’re a fan of wine or just want to experience one of the most beautiful regions in California, there’s no better time to visit Napa Valley than during the fall months. From the perfect weather to the stunning scenery, there’s something for everyone to enjoy during a fall trip to Napa Valley. Bring you camera to capture all the beauty!! Have you been to Napa Valley in the fall? What was your favorite part?
Harvest season is just about over here in Northern California and the beautiful Napa Valley. The vineyards are beautiful this time of year and I wanted to visit and do a photoshoot with all the glorious fall foliage. For this shoot I am wearing my stunning Oktober 50’s Dress by Hell Bunny as it is literally perfect for Autumn and the harvest season.
The fit of the Oktober 50’s Dress is amazing. It zips up the back, has 2 very deep pockets, pleats on the full circle skirt and the bodice; it is gorgeous with the faux wrap top and under bust seams with delicate gathers that enhance my feminine shape. I am wearing my standard 2XL Hell Bunny size and the dress fits perfectly. I love the faux wrap top made from two overlapping fabric panels as this dress style easily accommodates an ample bust. This lovely dress is available in up to size 4XL.
Oranges, reds, yellows, greens, black, wine, and even shades of pink are just some of the gorgeous autumnal colors nature creates for us to enjoy. This post is all about sharing some of these standout colors that I like to call eye candy because they evoke a pop of sweet joy when I wear them and see them.
A black dress can certainly be appropriate for Fall especially when it has a print as beautiful as this one with orangey-reds and turquoise blue-green. This dress is the Trixie Midnight Lily Swing Dress from Collectif Clothing in the UK. The dress is made from high quality cotton sateen and has a lovely sweetheart neckline and fitted waist for the 1940s-1950s bombshell look I love. The sleeves are ¾ and perfect for Fall time here in San Francisco.
My feline friendly outfit is another Fall favorite of mine. I love novelty prints and the border print on this skirt has the most adorable kitty cats. The skirt started off as a dress that ended up being too small and wouldn’t go over my chest so I had a seamstress convert it into a skirt for me and now I can wear it often. I like the green color of the skirt and paired it here with a bright orange sweater, leopard print purse and dark brown cardigan and I feel like I am wearing several autumnal colors in one outfit!!
This is a bittersweet post for me. We shot these pictures the day before another horrific wildfire broke out in California’s beautiful wine country. Although we are very fortunate and beyond grateful to still have a home, hundreds of people are not and so many businesses and world famous wineries burnt down. For those not familiar with this latest wildfire it is the Glass Fire in Napa/Calistoga, California.
It was a warm and glorious Autumn day and we drove out to our local vineyards for a Fall photoshoot. I wanted to wear a colorful dress because I felt so happy and never tired of the beautiful vineyard views. Many vineyards are currently in harvesting mode here but we managed to find some that still had lush grapes hanging on the vine!!
My accessories today are all by Erstwilder and they are part of the brand new Fan Favorites launch happening tonight. Erstwilder is a company based in Melbourne, Australia (I have partnered with them many times here, here, here, here, and here) and they do so much good for their community from food bank donations to helping the animals and wildlife and they did a lot for the animals during the tragic wildfires that happened earlier this year in Australia.
How fun is my Cyril the Sloth necklace!! I love his cute little face and he is perfect to wear for all seasons. I thought Cyril complimented the large Tarsier I posed with. Cyril comes with an adjustable chain and it will fit comfortably on you. Cyril will sell out very fast so hurry to Erstwilder to snap him up!!
I sure have a thing for pretty birds and could not resist my beautiful Betty Jo Sparrow brooch. The colors on this birdy are spectacular and she will match all my outfits this season. I especially enjoy wearing these lovely Erstwilder pieces when I am on my Zoom calls as my teammates and colleagues also like to see what I will be wearing next. You can snap up Betty Jo Sparrow here before she sells out!!
How spectacular is my Lacey of the Lily frog brooch, I love the bright green colors! Now this is a brooch to wear all year round and it will enhance all your outfits. I love the size of the brooch, not too small but perfect and looks lovely on someone with a curvy figure and full bust. So easy to wear and adds a brilliant pop of color. You know this one will jump right into everyone cart so hurry to Erstwilder and snap yours up now!!
This was a fun photoshoot in the beautiful California vineyards that turned tragic with the Glass Fire. The fire has been burning for over 1 week now, over 65,000 acres burned. Our frontline responders and all the firefighters are doing such a tremendous job and they are all so courageous!! We can thank them enough!! Hoping the fire is under control very soon and everyone will be safe.
