It’s that time of year again! The leaves are changing color and the air is starting get cooler here in California. That can only mean one thing: leaf peeping season is here! For those who don’t know, leaf peeping is the term for admiring the changing leaves in autumn. Although New England is where leaf peeping really happens, we also have some changing colors here in Northern California too. Every year, thousands of people flock to the vineyards in our region to see the leaves in all their glory.

Why We Love Leaf Peeping Season

There’s just something about fall that makes us feel nostalgic. Maybe it’s the memories of going back to school or participating in fall sports. Or maybe it’s because fall is such a beautiful time of year. Whatever the reason, there’s no denying that leaf peeping season is a special time. Here are a few reasons why we love it so much:

The Colors:

One of the best things about leaf peeping season is the colors. Admirers from all over will come to see our vineyards and the leaves in all their glory. From deep reds to vibrant oranges, the leaves never disappoint. November is pretty much the last part of the season to see the leaves as the vines start turning to sticks when their leaves fall. But these golden colors we captured on our photo shoot are pure magic.

The Activities:

There are so many fun activities to do during leaf peeping season! You can go on a hike and take in all the sights and smells of nature. Or you can go apple picking and enjoy some delicious Fall treats. There are also plenty of Fall festivals and pumpkin patches to visit. No matter what you’re into, there’s sure to be something for you to do during leaf peeping season.

The Weather:

Let’s be honest, the weather in Northern California can’t be beat. But during leaf peeping season, we get a brief respite from the hot summers. The temperatures are perfect for spending time outdoors without being too hot or too cold. So if you’re looking for an excuse to get out of the house, leaf peeping season is it!
