Queen Bee

Being a curvy girl I used to shy away from bright colors and statement jewelry pieces because I wasn’t sure I could pull them off. I learned that I sure can pull them off because it is all about wearing the right colors for my skin tone, wearing the right silhouette for my curvy figure, and accessorizing with the right scale jewelry pieces.

A great color combo that I especially like are yellow and green. I am wearing my lovely daisy floral dress from Heart of Haute that has lots of yellows and greens and paired it with a bright yellow cardigan. Because the dress top fits like a wrap (perfect for big boobs) I added this gorgeous bee necklace to accessorize my outfit with. I love a great retro inspired dress or Pinup dress because the styles from the 1950s are extremely flattering and Heart of Haute is also size inclusive. I think it just screams Spring and it makes me excited that warmer weather and sunshine are on the way.

My bee necklace is a large scale pendant that fits very nicely on a plus size curvy figure. If the bee pendant were smaller it would get lost on me, but, having the right scale pendant really makes a difference on a curvy figure. Also, the necklace is adjustable so it can be made longer or shorter and having length as an option is a really nice feature. I also paired my necklace with matching bee earrings to complete the set. My jewelry is from Erstwilder and they make very high quality pieces that flatter all bodies, especially curvy full figures.

Before I’ve had my morning coffee, you might find me a bit grouchy. I absolutely love coffee, particularly the delicious 4-shot espresso café mocha my husband whips up for us every single day. He’s truly our in-house barista extraordinaire! So, when I stumbled upon the irresistibly charming “Good Morning, Grumpy Bear” brooch from the latest Erstwilder x Care Bears collection, I was instantly smitten. Just look at that adorably grumpy expression and the coffee mug he’s clutching! I knew this delightful piece was made for me, and I couldn’t wait to wear it alongside my vintage blue Pyrex starburst coffee mug. The perfect way to start my day!

The Erstwilder x Care Bears collection is adorable and takes me straight back to my childhood. These bears debuted in the 80s and were so colorful and cuddly. Erstwilder has done an incredible job of bringing each bears’ unique personality and colors to life in this new collection. Look how sweet this Loyal Heart Dog brooch is…. His aqua blue color and adorable face with a heart above his eye. This lil cutie is true blue!!

You all know how I love a good necklace and this Huggable Necklace trio featuring Grumpy Bear, Love-A-Lot Bear, and Lucky Charm Bear makes my day! The colors are so bright and cheerful. If you are a curvy girl then Erstwilder necklaces are for you because they are adjustable and, in my opinion, big curves need big jewelry.

I also got this super sweet Cheer Bear in the Sky brooch, and it makes me smile each time I look at it. The pretty pink bear flying her rainbow heart balloon are delightful and I will be wearing this one a lot. Summer Style in California

June is here and that means summertime!! I am really looking forward to summer and the seasonal change and yes, the fun summer dresses too. I like sunshine and warm weather (not too hot) but summertime in California is beautiful, especially where we live in gorgeous wine country. The vineyards are in full-bloom and lush with grapes and one of my favorite things to see are the manicured rows of vineyards on the rolling hills. Well this is a great segway into my post today as my sweet hubby Gary and I went over to the world famous Korbel winery for our photoshoot and everything was starting to bloom for summer.

I was excited to wear the new Art Nouveau jewelry collection from Erstwilder and just love the colors in my Royal Eye peacock colored plume necklace and Royal Eye brooch as they are stunning and really bring out the colors of my dress (dress is from Heart of Haute) and perfect for body positive curvy girls. Erstwilder works with the most talented designers and creators and the new collection really brings out the ornamental style, colors, and curved formats of the Art Nouveau style. Spring with Hello Kitty

Spring has been incredible so far here in California. The weather has been warm and there’s been a breeze, flowers are blooming everywhere, and everyone is starting to get out again after being in lock down for so long. Gary and I headed out to shoot the new Hello Kitty collection for Erstwilder and I have to say I have loved Hello Kitty since I was a little girl. I remember going to the mall with my mom and sister and it was always such a special treat to stop into the Hello Kitty Sanrio store and just marvel at all the pretty pink Hello Kitty goodies!! We’d usually leave with some fancy Hello Kitty lip gloss, pencils decorated with Hello Kitty and her friends, and scented erasers that smelled like candy. Those were good times

The new Erstwilder x Hello Kitty collection is absolutely adorable. I paired my favorite pieces with my bright yellow dress from Collectif Clothing as I thought it all matched so nicely and is very cheerful. The wisteria flowers are in full bloom this time of year and Gary was so sweet to take my photos amongst them and all the bees!! The bees shared the flowers with us and I wish that scents could come over my computer because the smell of these sweet wisteria were magnificent. I’m wearing the adorable Hello Kitty Take to the Sky Necklace and it has her sitting in a bright yellow airplane flying with the fluffy clouds. Necklace is hand-assembled and features bubble resin, is adjustable and that is something I absolutely love and appreciate that Erstwilder have so much attention to detail.

Everyone recognizes the Peanuts gang created by Charles M. Schulz back in the 1950’s in a cartoon comic strip. The beloved Peanuts gang of characters are Charlie Brown and his dog Snoopy, Lucy, Linus, Peppermint Patty, Sally, Schroeder, Marcie, Woodstock, Pig Pen, and Franklin. Audiences love the Peanuts gang because they are so relatable. Everyone enjoys the movies and television shows the Peanuts gang appeared in that entertained so many of us.
