Spring has officially sprung, and with it comes the annual quest for the perfect dress to celebrate the season of blossoms and sunshine. Dresses are one my favorite pieces of clothing! I love how feminine and easy to wear dresses are and with a few accessories you have a complete outfit. Wrap dresses are my ultimate fave however and if you’ve been reading my blog for a while you know how much I appreciate a wrap dress because they really are a curvy girls best friend (you can see past wrap dresses here, here, here, and here).
Being a curvy girl I used to shy away from bright colors and statement jewelry pieces because I wasn’t sure I could pull them off. I learned that I sure can pull them off because it is all about wearing the right colors for my skin tone, wearing the right silhouette for my curvy figure, and accessorizing with the right scale jewelry pieces.

A great color combo that I especially like are yellow and green. I am wearing my lovely daisy floral dress from Heart of Haute that has lots of yellows and greens and paired it with a bright yellow cardigan. Because the dress top fits like a wrap (perfect for big boobs) I added this gorgeous bee necklace to accessorize my outfit with. I love a great retro inspired dress or Pinup dress because the styles from the 1950s are extremely flattering and Heart of Haute is also size inclusive. I think it just screams Spring and it makes me excited that warmer weather and sunshine are on the way.

My bee necklace is a large scale pendant that fits very nicely on a plus size curvy figure. If the bee pendant were smaller it would get lost on me, but, having the right scale pendant really makes a difference on a curvy figure. Also, the necklace is adjustable so it can be made longer or shorter and having length as an option is a really nice feature. I also paired my necklace with matching bee earrings to complete the set. My jewelry is from Erstwilder and they make very high quality pieces that flatter all bodies, especially curvy full figures.

Hubby and I headed out for a lovely weekend getaway to Healdsburg, CA. We were excited to enjoy the perfect weather that we have been having in California. I love how Northern California is dotted with little towns that all have a charm and personality. My favorite are the wine country towns and soon the vineyards will be blooming and turning a lush green and then the grapes will start to grow. For our adventure today we headed to Healdsburg, CA, a delightful town that is always popular with tourists that come up from San Francisco to tour the multiple wineries, experience wine tasting’s, renowned spas, restaurants, and shopping. I wore my new Veronica Atomica dress by Sourpuss Clothing. The print on this dress is fantastic with bright turquoise blue starbursts against a stretchy, and twirly skirt, and it also has pockets. I love how figure-flattering this dress with the classic 1950s silhouette is sand, it is so comfortable. I added my blue cardigan, blue petticoat, and my blue purse and shoes for pops of color. I received so many compliments, it really made my day.
As the late afternoon approached the weather cooled off (we are still in February I keep reminding myself) and I put on my Mid-Century Retro Coffee Time turquoise blue cozy sweatshirt from Crazy4 Me Style (also available in t-shirts) that matched the dress perfectly as we headed to the coffee shop. Lots of folks asked about my sweatshirt and dress and wanted to know where they could get one. Wearing vintage-inspired designs matches my aesthetic perfectly and it is so nice when people respond to it and like it too!!

Memorial Day weekend was a scorcher here in California. My hubby Gary and I drove up to a local wine country town that is usually a tourist destination especially for holidays unsure if we would be able to take photos. We had our masks, were distancing and sanitizer was in our bag. The town wasn’t too busy as nearly all shops and restaurants are still closed and folks are staying home. The park had a good amount of folks picnicking and enjoying being outside with friends. Everyone was social distancing and we felt comfortable walking around and enjoying the day.
