It is officially the middle of summertime, and that means one thing: time to hit the beach! The sun is shining, the waves are crashing, and the breeze is blowing. What could be better than spending a day at the beach in Bodega Bay? So grab your sunscreen, your towel, and your sandals, and let’s go!
If you’re anything like me, then a day at the beach usually means packing several items of clothing so you have something for any occasion. But not today! Today, I’m wearing my lovely Norma – Siren Scales – Mermaid vintage style curvy pin-up dress from Cherry Velvet and I’m good to go. Not only does this dress look great on the sand, but it’s also perfect for a day by the water or walking through the cute little beach towns. With its light fabric and flowing skirt, I’ll stay cool and comfortable all day long. The colors in this dress range from blue, aqua, sea-foam green, pink and darker purple pink and look absolutely stunning next to the shimmering sea. I love how this dress fits my curvy shape so nicely and enhances my figure. This dress also has pockets!!
It was a very busy day in Bodega Bay with lots and lots of people all around, but we found a lovely spot overlooking the ocean and my sweet hubby took these stunning pics of me. It felt incredible to be at the beach and feel the breeze on our skin and see the beautiful sparkling water and take a moment to be still and listen to the waves crashing. It was very rejuvenating and great for our souls.
We even found a lovely mermaid sculpture for me to pose by and my little vintage fishy purse was the perfect accessory. I had my cardigan too as the breeze was a little cool at times and this dress has so many fun colors that it is easy to dress up and accessorize with a cardigan to match the colors. I received so many compliments on my dress.
I’m not sure what the scientific explanation is for it, but there’s something about the beach that makes me feel wonderful. Maybe it’s the endless horizon or the sound of waves crashing against the shore. In case you’re looking for a little bit of inspiration to get your summer wardrobe together, this dress is perfect for a day at the beach, for your next vacation, or enjoying your summer days so visit Cherry Velvet (size inclusive from Small-3X) and get yours before they all sell out. If you are in Northern California and have time to visit Bodega Bay I encourage you to do so as you will most certainly enjoy your time here!!
Get ready to rev your engines and join us in Petaluma for the Salute to American Graffiti car show! This weekend, the town will come alive with the sights and sounds of vintage and custom hot rods that will leave car enthusiasts in awe. So get your 1950s pinup style dress and red lipstick on for a fabulous classic car show!!
After a long hiatus due to the pandemic, the American Graffiti car show is back and better than ever! This year’s show was a roaring success, with an impressive display of hundreds of cars that spanned several blocks of downtown Petaluma. From fabulous Ford Fairlanes to classic Mustangs, the show had something for everyone. We even saw some rare beauties like Corvairs and Deuce Coupes that left us breathless!
What makes this event even more special is that it pays homage to the iconic 1973 movie American Graffiti, which was filmed mostly in Petaluma. The event is put on by dedicated volunteers who raise funds for local community projects, making it a great opportunity to support the town and have fun at the same time. Plus, with appearances from the movie’s stars like Ron Howard, Harrison Ford, Richard Dreyfuss, Suzanne Summers, Cindy Williams, and Wolfman Jack, the event had a touch of Hollywood glamour.
Hubby and I headed out for a lovely weekend getaway to Healdsburg, CA. We were excited to enjoy the perfect weather that we have been having in California. I love how Northern California is dotted with little towns that all have a charm and personality. My favorite are the wine country towns and soon the vineyards will be blooming and turning a lush green and then the grapes will start to grow. For our adventure today we headed to Healdsburg, CA, a delightful town that is always popular with tourists that come up from San Francisco to tour the multiple wineries, experience wine tasting’s, renowned spas, restaurants, and shopping. I wore my new Veronica Atomica dress by Sourpuss Clothing. The print on this dress is fantastic with bright turquoise blue starbursts against a stretchy, and twirly skirt, and it also has pockets. I love how figure-flattering this dress with the classic 1950s silhouette is sand, it is so comfortable. I added my blue cardigan, blue petticoat, and my blue purse and shoes for pops of color. I received so many compliments, it really made my day.
As the late afternoon approached the weather cooled off (we are still in February I keep reminding myself) and I put on my Mid-Century Retro Coffee Time turquoise blue cozy sweatshirt from Crazy4 Me Style (also available in t-shirts) that matched the dress perfectly as we headed to the coffee shop. Lots of folks asked about my sweatshirt and dress and wanted to know where they could get one. Wearing vintage-inspired designs matches my aesthetic perfectly and it is so nice when people respond to it and like it too!!
You can see a what our little adventure was like on my Instagram as I had so much fun putting a little day-in-the-life video together.
Christmas time is here and that means a visit to one of our favorite places today, Grandma Buddies Christmas Tree Farm. This Christmas tree farm not only has loads of amazing trees, but they have a magical holiday barn decorated with gingerbread, flocked trees and wreaths, and lots and lots of decorations and special holiday touches. You can sip hot cocoa from their cocoa cart and walk around the farm to pick out your holiday tree.
On our visit today the sun came out for a little bit on this chilly December day, and we made the most of it by not only picking out our tree but also doing one last photo shoot of the year.
The theme for my outfit today was a mix of holiday cheer and half wonderland because my accessories are brooches from the Erstwilder Christmas collection and their brand-new Kitschy Witch collab for the Alice in Wonderland collection.
I wore my crimson red holiday top and matched it up with my Alice in Wonderland vintage-inspired Pinup circle skirt and my turquoise blue coat added the much-needed warmth that day.
