This weekend, the town of Petaluma will shine with a display of vintage and custom hot rods for the American Graffiti Car Show.
The Salute to American Graffiti car show in Petaluma is a must-see for classic car enthusiasts. With hundreds of cars on display, there’s something for everyone to love. This year’s show was extra special, as last couple of years the show didn’t happen because of COVID so everyone was ready and excited this year and they came out in droves!! It was also our first car show in 3 years. If you’re a fan of vintage cars, this show is not to be missed!
The event is put on by volunteers that raise funds for local community projects while paying homage to the 1973 movie American Graffiti by Francis Ford Coppola, George Lucas, and a cast we all know today featuring Ron Howard, Harrison Ford, Richard Dreyfuss, Suzanne Summers, Cindy Williams, Wolfman Jack, and more! Petaluma is where most of the movie was filmed.
The car show spans several downtown Petaluma city blocks and this year it seemed that there were even more cars and attendees. We saw fabulous Ford Fairlanes, Impalas, Chevy Bel Airs, Deuce Coupes, classic Mustangs, Trucks, Corvettes, Mercury’s, Corvairs, Hotrods, and so much more. These cars were stunning!! All the car owners were so friendly and were happy to talk to you about their cars and all the work that went into restoring them.
It also turned out to be a scorching hot day and my vintage 1950s inspired pinup girl dress kept me cool. We took so many pictures and this post is filled with them, and I hope it gives you all an idea of what the event was like.
If you missed this year’s show, mark your calendars for next year now! The American Graffiti Classic Car Show is the perfect event to spend a lovely day in Petaluma. There’s something for everyone, from classic cars and hot rods to food trucks and music. We hope to see you there next year!
