A Taste of Italy at Ferrari Carano Winery

Ferrari Carano Winery Yasmina Greco

Living in gorgeous wine country California we are fortunate to have world-class wineries so close by and today we visited the exquisite Ferrari Carano winery. The drive was beautiful; it was sunny and warm with a breeze. We past so many lush vineyards and stopped to take pictures along the way. Harvest season has started in Sonoma County but there are still full grape clusters hanging on the vines and they are a wonderful sight to see.

Ferrari Carano Winery is about 30 miles from our home and is located in Sonoma County’s Dry Creek Valley in Healdsburg, CA. The winery is known for their Chardonnays, Sauvignon Blancs as well as reds and desert wines. Let me just say we were in complete delight when we pulled onto the property. The winery looks just like an Italian villa with grand arches, lots of architectural and ornamental details, beautiful windows and is surrounded by stunning ornamental gardens. There are several types of tastings offered, one of which can be experienced in the underground Enoteca Reserve Tasting Bar and you can see a remarkable barrel room on your way down and then there is the II Terrazzo terrace that overlooks the stunning formal gardens and vineyard offering tastings as well.

Review: Whistle Stop Antiques in Santa Rosa

Whistle Stop Antiques Review Santa Rosa

It was a beautiful sunny weekend but windy and cold. Dressing in layers is always a good idea when antiquing as well as bringing a great tote bag to carry your treasures home in. I had a comfy warm coat on; my favorite new tote bag and my Hell Bunny pinup dress so I was feeling fantastic for a day of antiquing.

Winters in California Wine Country

Ferrari-Carano Vineyard Winery Yasmina Greco

Winters in California couldn’t be more perfect!! Although we don’t get snow it still gets chilly and that calls for a nice warm coat. The vineyards have lost most of their leaves by now but are still breathtaking. We took a drive out to Ferrari-Carano winery and it did not disappoint, just look at the scenery!! As usual the property is immaculately groomed. Inside the cellar is all decorated for Christmas and it is exquisite. There are even Betty Boop ornaments on the trees!! We took some pictures and met some lovely folks who were so complimentary about my outfit and style. It is always so much fun to meet people out and about.

Polka Dots, Curves in Wine Country

Yasmina Greco Polka Dot Windsor

I wanted to share some pics with you all from my weekend in wine country. We are so fortunate to live in beautiful wine country California and have really great weather pretty much all year. This past weekend was so lovely, sunny, and cool with a little wind. Hubby and I headed to the quaint towns of Windsor and Healdsburg about 70 miles North of San Francisco.

I had a completely different outfit planned for this excursion but it didn’t work out well for my curves…. we will save that story for another time and another curvy blog post. I had seen this polka dot top in a magazine and being the lover of polka dots that I am, I had to have it. I was so happy to see the blouse come in plus size as it would need to fit my curves and it is a wrap top so I knew it would fit my bust and I was not disappointed when it arrived. The blouse had such a luxurious feel to it and it was made really well. Usually plus size curvy clothing from department stores are not all that well made and do not usually have a shape so I was pleasantly surprised what fast fashion from Macy’s delivered. Details here for Polka dot blouse.

Happy Thanksgiving – Pinup Style

Vintage Pinup Thanksgiving

Picture from Pinterest

Hope you all are with loved ones and friends today enjoying yummy foods, lots and lots of laughter and sharing all that you are thankful for. Today is the second Thanksgiving in our house and the sun is shining outside, our puppy dog Luna woke up happy and excited and soon our bird will be in the oven and the delicious smell of Thanksgiving will be wafting through our house… hmmmm, maybe Luna knows this? Ha!

The past few months have been out-of-this-world amazing for us. We are both healthy and wakeup each morning with a zest for life. Ok, the 4 shot espresso hubby brings me in bed helps 🙂 I am thankful for my hubby!! I am thankful that my husband and I are more in love than ever, we celebrated 15years of marriage in September and I am grateful for sharing my life with him, all the love and laughter we share each and everyday!! We worked very hard to have been able to settle in gorgeous California wine country and our house couldn’t be anymore perfect, our orange tree out front already has oranges!! My husband continues to expand his vintage camera business and it is so rewarding when his customers write him and share how much joy and fun they have using his amazing UpcycledClassics cameras and how many people give his cameras as gifts all over the world. His vision was to bring back the joy of shooting with Polaroid cameras and with his incredible color combos, these cameras really are dynamite!! I am so thankful for the opportunities I have had this year. If you are a follower of my blog you might recall I made a change to my wardrobe and styling where I started dressing in vintage/vintage inspired clothing and incorporating a Pinup Girl style. I have never felt as beautiful and feminine as I do these days. Talk about a confidence boost!! I have also been featured in magazines and websites modeling….. yes, modeling! Never in a million years would I have thought I’d be a model 🙂 I have lots of exciting projects coming out in 2016 so stay tuned for details. But, I am grateful and thankful for the opportunities that are coming my way and my dream is to be a successful motivational public speaker so this platform is helping with exposure and getting to share my message. Spiritually, I am in the best place. I had some situations and experiences this year and I am a new person spiritually. I am so thankful!! I am also thankful that my twin sister, nieces and family all have a close relationship, not a single day goes by where we don’t talk or text. I am thankful to all my blog and social media friends, your support is incredible!! We are very blessed and fortunate for all the love, material possessions, and having such amazing people in our lives.

I did a recent photoshoot that was Christmas themed, I will start sharing pics on my blog here in December, just a couple days away, and social media Instagram and Twitter a Christmas pic a week so stay tuned.

Vineyards Fall 2015 California

A couple pics I snapped yesterday of the vineyards, leaves are glorious and full of Fall colors!! In a few days however the leaves will have dropped and the vines will be sticks…..until late May when they start to bloom again.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!

Visiting Antiques on Second in Napa, Califorinia

Antiques on Second Napa CA

What to do in Napa, CA? Okay, so if wine tasting and visiting wineries isn’t your thing, head to downtown Napa where amongst other things you will find Antiques on Second. This is such a fun place to hunt and shop and you will no doubt be surprised by the shop setup and the many goodies inside. Antiques on Second is a multi-dealer Antique shop and although has under 50 booths it has a great selection of vintage clothing, vintage accessories, lots of vintage linens, Asian items, jewelry, furniture, figurines, collectibles, salt and pepper shakers, paintings, garden related items and so much more! We spent over an hour in this shop and the staff was really friendly and knowledgeable, the shop is clean and really well setup, booths are merchandised really nicely too. I chatted with one of the staff and Antiques on Second and this shop is the last remaining Antiques shop in downtown Napa.  So, for those of you that love California wine country especially the Napa Valley….. you can certainly enjoy the large selection of antiques and collectibles downtown Napa has by visiting Antiques on Second. Prices are very fair too!! We sure had a lot of fun.
