Living in gorgeous wine country California we are fortunate to have world-class wineries so close by and today we visited the exquisite Ferrari Carano winery. The drive was beautiful; it was sunny and warm with a breeze. We past so many lush vineyards and stopped to take pictures along the way. Harvest season has started in Sonoma County but there are still full grape clusters hanging on the vines and they are a wonderful sight to see.
Ferrari Carano Wineryis about 30 miles from our home and is located in Sonoma County’s Dry Creek Valley in Healdsburg, CA. The winery is known for their Chardonnays, Sauvignon Blancs as well as reds and desert wines. Let me just say we were in complete delight when we pulled onto the property. The winery looks just like an Italian villa with grand arches, lots of architectural and ornamental details, beautiful windows and is surrounded by stunning ornamental gardens. There are several types of tastings offered, one of which can be experienced in the underground Enoteca Reserve Tasting Bar and you can see a remarkable barrel room on your way down and then there is the II Terrazzo terrace that overlooks the stunning formal gardens and vineyard offering tastings as well.
As summer heats up, take a trip to Italy without leaving town. Tee is full of vintage style with a beautiful girl riding her retro Vespa in striking racing green color and the Colosseum in the background adds so much historical charm, ROME is spelled out in vibrant colors. This design is created exclusively for us from custom artwork that has plenty of retro flair complete with a cute puppy dog too. Design is screen printed so it will not fade.
This is about the time I start thinking of “getting away” from it all and my mind drifts to thoughts of beautiful Italy and the fabulous time my husband and I had there. My mouth starts to water for the yummy authentic pizza and the incredible espresso’s and gelato’s! The setting is picturesque indeed with the warm sunshine, lemon trees, azure waters, Ferrari’s and Lamborghinis and the warm jovial people. We plan to return, maybe this summer, fall or even winter and this time I will be on the hunt for new adventure as I wander the many flea markets and antiques fairs I just discovered. Just thinking of the possible treasures that wait are almost too exciting to withstand I mean, this is Italy – the land of art and beauty and surely there must be treasure waiting as Italy is ancient and has been standing the test of time. I will keep you all posted on what may happen with this trip I just have to take! I will most certainly share with you the adventure in photos and video. Will it be Como, Lombardy, Venice or Milan? Stay tuned! Here are some fabulous flea markets in the Como, Lombardy, Milan area. More here.
