Our newest design for Crazy4Me Style has debuted and it is the Amazing Kitschy Poodle T-Shirt. This t-shirt is reminiscent of the vintage 1950s spaghetti poodle dog figurines that were made in Japan by Lefton, Napco, Norcrest, Holt Howard, Kreiss, Artmark, Relco, Relpo, and more . Our Poodles are kitschtsastic with their cateye glasses, the fabulous pink and turquoise colors of the era and atomic starbursts.

My Ultimate 5 Tips for Collecting Spaghetti Poodle Dogs

Vintage spaghetti poodle dogs have so much charm and character. They come in a variety of colors and styles and can be found highly decorated with rhinestones, bows, glasses, hats, playing sports, chain leash with puppies, depicted as fireman, graduating students, band musicians, reading the daily newspaper, snooty, high fashion, smoking, brides and more!

5 Tips for Collecting Vintage Spaghetti Poodle Figurines by Yasmina Greco

Spaghetti Poodles are vintage ceramic, porcelain and clay figurines whose signature hairdo was created through an intricate process. Craftspeople would use tea strainers to push material like clays or glazes through the holes to form delicate strands that could be affixed for a pom-pom look, swirled onto the figure for bouncy curls, or incorporated into other creative designs. These one-of-a kind decorations were often also spruced up with rhinestones as eyes or sparkly accessories on their hats and collars; pearls and floral motifs added further charm! Despite being incredibly fragile though years of handling can cause them breakage in some areas – making these collectibles even more special.

Farmhouse Antiques on Sellwood’s Antique Row

Wrapping-up week one of my Pacific Northwest tour, I had a very nice visit at Farmhouse Antiques, located on Portland, Oregon’s Antiques Row in the chic and quirky Sellwood neighborhood. There are over a dozen antiques and collectibles shops among other trendy boutiques and coffee shops that make-up Sellwood’s Antiques Row. Antiques Row is minutes away from the hustle and bustle of Portland and is nestled amongst turn-of-the-century homes, cute cottages and bungalows with lots of blooming trees and colorful Spring flowers this time of year.

Farmhouse Antiques is a charming little shop offering a large selection of antique and vintage quilts, tablecloths, tea towels, postcards, salt and pepper shakers, glassware, 1950s spaghetti poodles, nick-nacks, charming jewelry and so much more! On my visit I walked away with some darling vintage Holt Howard and Lefton pixieware relish jars and pixieware jam jars and a couple Josef Originals figurines (I will post up pictures shortly to share with you all) and I found the pricing at Farmhouse Antiques extremely reasonably especially in comparison to the many other antiques and collectibles shops that make-up Sellwood’s Antiques Row.

Farmhouse Antiques was by far my favorite little shop though the many other shops offered their own specialty items weather your interest is in paintings,  Asian artifcacts, old lace, vintage home hardware from door knobs to chandeliers, and even yard décor.

Be sure you visit Sellwood Antiques Row and Farmhouse Antiques if you find yourself in Portland, Oregon as you will experience a full-day of treasure hunting in a chicly quirky neighborhood with lots of available parking and very friendly people.
