Pinup Couture Bella Skirt in Music Boarder Print

I was really excited to collaborate with Pinup Girl Clothing on the new Pinup Couture Bella Skirt in Music Boarder Print with Art by Stephanie Buscema. The Bella is a style I had wanted to try since it was released this past summer in the pink and blue Castle prints. Also, the boarder print artwork is by Stephanie Buscema… wow! Stephanie is a seriously talented painter and illustrator with a love for music, and 1950s kitsch, so the boarder print design on this Music Notes skirt is brilliant!!

The Bella skirt is made of the same high-quality cotton sateen the Jenny skirts are made from. It felt so luxurious when I pulled it out of the packaging and I was excited to get it on my body and try her on. What I particularly like about the Bella skirt is the wider waistband that has some stretch to it. You will still get that nipped-in waist but more comfortably and it will hold its form. The Bella skirt has a very figure flattering shape but with less fabric then the Jenny skirt and there are not as many pleats and gathers so it feels lighter, but again, has the gorgeous shape and style of a full swing skirt. The Bella has incredibly deep pockets too so do not be concerned about your phone, compact, lipstick, and keys not having space. Also, this one did not wrinkle much!! We shot a lot of pictures for the collaboration and it wore beautifully and remained so comfortable. I am wearing the Bella in a size 2XL and it fit spot-on according to the size chart with no issues at all. I really like how it hugs my curves in all the right places and nips in my waist. The Bella also accommodates a full petticoat and I am wearing one underneath so it is perfect for cooler seasons and warmer seasons as you can wear it without a petticoat and still have perfect volume. I was so comfortable in this gorgeous skirt I could wear all day!! I really love the fit and flair of the Bella and the boarder print lays just a little flatter then it would on a Jenny thus making the print easier to show-off. The print is stunning with Stephanie Buscema’s incredible artwork. Musical instruments along with music notes line the boarder in a variety of great colors that are perfect for vintage loving Dolls. All these colors make it easy to pair tops and cardigans with.

In these pictures I am wearing a peasant top and Lauren top. The peasant top is in the beautiful Baton Rouge color and boy does it match perfectly with the Bella skirt. The color is magic!! Having quite a full bust I wasn’t sure how the peasant top would work but it fits perfectly. I love how I don’t have to worry about buttons and gaping. Pinup Girl Clothing knows how to design clothing for all shapes and sizes so you can feel beautiful and confident in all their items. I am wearing the peasant top in a 2XL and it is so comfortable!!

The yellow top I am wearing is the Lauren top in a 2XL and it too pairs so nicely with this Bella skirt. Being a large busted gal the top hugs my curves so nicely and I like the longer sleeve. I love wearing bright pops of color and this skirt makes it so easy to mix and match colors with so you can have all the colors of the rainbow in peasant tops, Lauren tops, Doris tops, and so many more tops!! Colorful cardigans too especially in cooler weather will be perfect paired with this skirt.

Blonde Bombshell Hearts and Kisses Pinup Girl T-Shirt

I am happy to share our latest addition to the Crazy4Me Style shop, our Blonde Bombshell Hearts and Kisses Pinup Girl T-Shirt from custom one-of-a-kind artwork. She exudes 1950s bombshell glam with her glorious blonde hair all done up in a vintage style and she is blowing kisses and hearts. She is perfection!!

For this tee it was quite the challenge finding the right fabric and printing process. I really wanted an aqua blue tee to showoff the artwork as I could see it perfectly with the pink hearts and her blonde hair. Dye lots apparently can vary and just because you receive the correct colored tee once doesn’t mean you will again, so we worked with many manufactures to find the absolute best workmanship and also experienced sizing rounds to ensure the design was perfectly printed and with the right colored inks. We talked to so many companies!! We also wanted to work with a US based company as that is a really important thing for us. It was a very long process but, here she is, we are so proud of the finished product and hope you love her!! Sizes available in XS – 3XL.

Our Blonde Bombshell tee has the perfect scoop neck and the sleeves are not tight on the upper arm portion like so many other tees. Ours are roomy with a nice shape. The t-shirt also accommodates a full bust with ease and that means the design won’t crack; this is especially important for us Dolls with large breasts. The tee is also a nice length that can easily tuck into wiggle skirts, swing skirts, and jeans, and, can be comfortably un-tucked over trousers and will maintain its shape. Our tee is perfect for the Pinup Girl, Rockabilly babe and modern day vintage loving gal!!

Cute As A Cupcake – Lyra Dress by Lady Voluptuous

Lady Voluptuous has put their own stamp on the classic wrap dress with a 1950s circle skirt and a standout print for every occasion. I was so excited to work with Lady Voluptuous on this collaboration and wear their new Autumn/Winter 2016 Lyra Dress that I could not wait to style and shoot this delectably sweet dress in the Cute As A Cupcake print in black.

This Lyra dress is practical, feminine, and sexy, yet can be work appropriate too. For Autumn this dress has long sleeves!!! Hooray for all us ladies that don’t enjoy baring our arms as well as appreciate the longer length for added warmth as the weather turns cooler. No one can pass up the cute cupcake print (I was craving cupcakes badly) and the colors are perfect for Autumn with cozy shades of gold, brownish/orange, hints of red and pastel blues/pinks. The Lyra dress is spot on for modern dressing with its V-neck wrap design that fits a woman’s body like no other dress as it perfectly hugged my curves and hour glass shape, and, in keeping with the vintage theme it has that fabulous full circle skirt. With ties in the back, you can pull the dress as tight as you like to enhance your waist or, keep it looser for work wear. I love that this wrap dress also lets the wearer adjust just how much cleavage they are comfortable showing as you can pull it higher in front to minimize the amount or, pull it down a bit to bare a little more.

In these pictures I styled the dress very minimally as I wanted the fun print to be the showstopper. I wore it with my simple black pumps and some bright pink earrings. I added a pink cardigan for a little contrast to show just how easy it is to style this stunning dress. As the weather cools I will pair it with tights and some tall boots and richer hued cardigans. I am a Lyra dress fan having the green and purple styles in my collection and am so thrilled to have the addition of this Cupcake print in my wardrobe as this dress is a staple and so very comfortable to wear. The dress is as light as air and doesn’t wrinkle!! Lady Voluptuous garments are made in London from the finest fabrics in sizes 16-32. I need all the Lyra’s in all the styles!! Pencil Skirt

This might just be the only pencil skirt you’ll find me in. Long time readers of my blog know I am a swing skirt kinda gal. Let’s dive right in this skirt review and talk about the boarder print…those fabulous rainbow hued colored pencils!! Yep, it’s the rainbow pencils that caught my eye and I could not wait to get this skirt on and shoot it. The skirt is by ModCloth, not a brand I typically wear but this boarder print was just too good. I read some of the online reviews and was a little concerned about sizing as the reviews were all over the place. I ordered per the size chart and am so glad I did, as the fit is perfection. The skirt is made of cotton and breathes and has enough room in the waist to be very comfortable.

Here are some pics and yes, that is our very own 1950s Philco Predicta TV and it still works!!

This skirt is very well made and includes a liner. It is an A-line cut and has pockets. The shape, being A-line did not work with a petticoat so I was a little saddened that I would not be able to wear a variety of colors with it but, the shape and fit are totally on-point. And those rainbow pencils, my oh my, in-person they are even brighter and more brilliant!! I paired the skirt with a berry colored top and belt to nip in my waist. This skirt allows for so many tops and cardigans and couldn’t be any simpler to style. Since I am more of a vintage/retro Pinup Girl I went with that theme and even added a matching hair tie. The skirt is so incredibly versatile and can be dressed up or down with a blouse and accessories. You can also pair it with a variety of colorful shoes!! I will next be wearing this with a turquoise blue (my favorite color) top and matching accessories so stay tuned. Hello Kitty Instax Camera and Outfits for Curvy Dolls

I’ve adored Hello Kitty since I was a little girl. I can remember being in shops that sold Hello Kitty goodies and those scented lip glosses!! My hubby Gary got me this limited edition Hello Kitty camera by Fuji Film and it is the Instax Mini Hello Kitty Camera and I love it. I am not a photographer and for the life of me, can’t take a decent picture but, Instax makes film photography fun and that is really what it is all about. Oh yea, you can be cute too walking around with Hello Kitty.

The Instax Mini Hello Kitty Camera is what got me thinking about styling an entire outfit. Pinup/Rockabilly meets Hello Kitty is what I was going for but wanting to keep it sweet and cute….. you know, just like Hello Kitty. It is not alway easy to find Hello Kitty clothing when you are a curvy Doll. In these pictures I am wearing a skirt from Torrid and their collaboration with Sanrio to make the first ever plus size Hello Kitty line. The mint green skirt is actually a swing skirt with a boarder print of Hello Kitty and includes images from the city complete with skyscrapers and a driving Hello Kitty. The skirt is fully lined too and I was able to add a full petticoat underneath. The skirt comes in sizes 10-30!! It is cotton and prefect for warm weather. I paired it with a cute sparkly Hello Kitty top and simple bow in my hair. It was so much doing this photoshoot with my photographer hubby Gary.
