As the golden hues of harvest season begin here in Northern California, Napa Valley transforms into a breathtaking tapestry of autumn splendor. The vineyards, cloaked in vibrant shades of red, orange, and gold, beckon for a visit, and what better way to capture the magic of the season than with a photoshoot amidst this glorious fall foliage?
For this enchanting excursion, I chose to wear my exquisite Oktober 50’s Dress by Hell Bunny—a piece that feels as if it was crafted precisely for this moment in time. The fit of the Oktober 50’s Dress is nothing short of perfection. It zips smoothly up the back, and the deep pockets are both practical and delightfully unexpected. The pleats on the full circle skirt and bodice create a graceful silhouette, while the faux wrap top and under-bust seams delicately enhance my feminine curves. This dress is a celebration of vintage style, with a design that flatters in all the right places.
Wearing my standard 2XL Hell Bunny size, I found the dress to be a flawless fit, effortlessly accommodating an ample bust thanks to the cleverly designed overlapping fabric panels. The Oktober 50’s Dress is available up to size 4XL, making it a versatile and inclusive choice for women of all shapes and sizes.

Today I am thrilled to share one of my passions with you all – collecting vintage Spaghetti Poodles! These little guys are positively precious, and they add a wonderful sense of cuteness while perfectly fitting into my mid-century modern aesthetic.
My favorite pieces from the collection have got to be the 1950’s Norcrest poodle trio in glasses & bows on the tray plus Lipper & Mann’s ‘NOEL’ set for Christmas time. Also included in this beloved assortment is an array of delightful lipstick holders, planters, vases – it just can’t get any better than that!
UPDATE: You can ready about my collections on a recently published piece in the Antique Trader
Take a step back in time and revel in the kitschy cuteness of 1950s poodles! Back then, these furry four-legged friends were everywhere – from classic Poodle skirts to intricate spaghetti art ware figurines. Ceramic artists crafted unique pieces using a special technique that mimicked the pup’s fur and sparked an excitement for all things “spaghetti” poodle!
Spaghetti art wear is made from clay, porcelain, and ceramic which is applied as “fur” to form various textures of a poodle’s hairdo. To accomplish the spaghetti look, ceramicists and designers would have different techniques like using tea strainers to push the material through to form strands that were then attached to the poodle giving it a pom-pom look or they would swirl it onto to the poodle for a curly look. The spaghetti is very fragile and tends to break or chip over the years.
Wine enthusiasts, listen up! Napa Valley, Northern California’s world-renowned wine haven, is calling your name, and there’s no better time to answer that call than during the fabulous fall season! As the grape leaves turn to a symphony of autumn hues, Napa Valley transforms into an enchanting wonderland that’s perfect for wine lovers and nature enthusiasts alike. Let’s explore why fall is the ultimate season for experiencing the true essence of Napa Valley’s charm.
The Weather is Perfect!! One of the best things about Napa Valley in the fall is the weather. During the summer months, it can get quite hot in Napa Valley. However, temperatures start to cool down in September and October, making it the perfect time to visit if you want to enjoy comfortable weather.
Another great thing about visiting Napa Valley in the fall is that you’ll get to see the leaves changing color. The vineyards and wineries are especially beautiful during this time of year as the leaves turn from green to shades of red and orange.
If you’re looking to avoid crowds, then fall is also a great time to visit Napa Valley. While the region does get busy during harvest season (which typically runs from August through October), things start to calm down again once November rolls around. So if you want to experience Napa Valley without all the crowds, plan your trip for sometime between November and March.
Whether you’re a fan of wine or just want to experience one of the most beautiful regions in California, there’s no better time to visit Napa Valley than during the fall months. From the perfect weather to the stunning scenery, there’s something for everyone to enjoy during a fall trip to Napa Valley. Bring you camera to capture all the beauty!! So get your 1950s pinup style dress and red lipstick on for a fabulous classic car show!!
After a long hiatus due to the pandemic, the American Graffiti car show is back and better than ever! This year’s show was a roaring success, with an impressive display of hundreds of cars that spanned several blocks of downtown Petaluma. From fabulous Ford Fairlanes to classic Mustangs, the show had something for everyone. We even saw some rare beauties like Corvairs and Deuce Coupes that left us breathless!
What makes this event even more special is that it pays homage to the iconic 1973 movie American Graffiti, which was filmed mostly in Petaluma. The event is put on by dedicated volunteers who raise funds for local community projects, making it a great opportunity to support the town and have fun at the same time. Plus, with appearances from the movie’s stars like Ron Howard, Harrison Ford, Richard Dreyfuss, Suzanne Summers, Cindy Williams, and Wolfman Jack, the event had a touch of Hollywood glamour.
