This year it felt like retailers really didn’t get into the Valentines Day spirit. I didn’t see very many outfits with hearts or lips and very few red or pink dresses. Also, being a curvy girl I found the selection of Valentines Day outfit sizing to be on the smaller side this year and although I waited till it was nearly too late in the hopes that my go-to brands would come out with something, they didn’t, so, I decided I’d reach into my fabulous wardrobe and put my own Valentine inspired outfit together.

Mid-Century Modern Flamingos and Novelty Print Pinup Skirts
It has been a week of non-stop rain here in California. I am ready for sunshine and flamingos!! When I saw this Mandie Bee Ella Top in Pink Mingo print on the Heart of Haute website I could not wait to get it on my body. Pink flamingos on a work appropriate blouse is not something you are lucky enough to find everyday. I paired the Pink Mingo Ella top with a simple black circle skirt and it looks great with a white or pink cardigan added for a little warmth and perfect for the office. For reference I am wearing the top in a 2xl to accommodate my large breasts and I love that the fit is perfect for very curvy gals while not being too extreme and that is why this is my new go-to top for the office . The pussybow adds the right amount of chic femininity too!!
Next up is the colorful MCM Furniture Novelty Print skirt from The Oblong Box Shop. The brilliant orange and teal colors just pop and I love the mid-century modern boomerang coffee table, sputnik clock, 50s sofa and TV on this print. I paired the skirt with my favorite turquoise blue Lily top from Heart of Haute. It is such a fun outfit to wear!! I wear the MCM print skirt in a XL and the Lily top is an XL too (lots of good stretch).
My hubby Gary is a great photographer and we have a lot of fun working together on these Pinup shoots. Gary is also a great photo stylist and put together the Rockabilly Pinup set for this shoot that includes a George Nelson Mid-Century Modern style wall clock and the Danish modern cabinet with a shag rug and mid-mod drapes. I loved this set so much. Accessories on the shelves are from our collection.
Next week we have a fun Valentines Day shoot and I can’t wait to share the pics with you all.
Hope you all are doing great!!
12 Days of Pinup Christmas Part 2: Pigtails and Pirates, Hell Bunny, Heart of Haute + More!
I can’t believe how quickly December is flying by!! When I first set out to do a ’12 Days of Pinup Christmas’ theme, truth be told, I wasn’t quite sure what I would be sharing for 12 days with you all but, turns out my hubby Gary and I did a pretty good job at planning out the photo shoots and I can’t believe how many pretty holiday outfits I’ve received to share with you all in my posts. We were able to find a fabulous 1950s Philco Predicta TV that works and is now part of our living room!! Also, our tabletop vintage aluminum Christmas tree is never too far this time of year as we love vintage Christmas and these elements add so much mid-century modern charm. Here are the latest pics from my 12 days theme featuring lovely outfits from Pigtails and Pirates, Heart of Haute, Hell Bunny and The Oblong Box Shop . Getting My Retro Halloween On Pinup Girl Style
October has been such a fast moving month. We have so many incredibly exciting projects coming up both at the day job and the Pinup side of things too and I will be sharing more soon. I hope all my blog readers have been wearing their favorite Pinup Rockabilly dresses and skirts this month as there has been an incredible selection created by our favorite brands for Halloween and Fall.
When Pinup Girl Clothing announced they’d be coming out with a limited edition Halloween harlequin print I clicked the wait list as soon as I found out it was a Jenny dress. I already had it all planned out that I’d be wearing this dress to the pumpkin patch. I styled the Halloween harlequin Jenny dress with my orange belt from the Orange Boarder print Jenny dress and added a short sleeve cardigan and my adorable vintage Halloween Treat brooch with jack-o-lanterns by Luxulite. We had so much fun at the pumpkin patch!!
I still think this is the perfect Halloween Pinup girl skirt and it is the Halloween Treat skirt from The Oblong Box Shop. The print evokes vintage Halloween perfectly with scary and spooky nostalgic black cats, bats and skulls. I paired this skirt with my Doris top from Pinup Girl Clothing and think the combo is perfect 1950s Halloween bombshell!!

Happy Halloween!!
