Vintage Christmas Cuties, Bottlebrush Trees, Candy Cane Pixie

Vintage Bottle Brush Christmas Tree Shinybrite Ornaments

As we all prep for Santa’s visit in the next 24hrs I wanted to post up a couple of my favorite finds this year. We didn’t get out nearly as much as in years past, not many visits to the antique malls or thrift stores. Dealing with the loss of a beloved family member at Christmas time has been very difficult; she really loved Christmas and always decorated and even collected Christmas and her favorite were the Snowmen. Finding vintage snowmen has not been easy!! Thames Japan made some vintage snowmen and snow lady figurines back in the 50s-60s but I haven’t seen any this year. I did manage to add this adorable vintage Norcrest pixie angel girl on candy cane skis to my collection as well as this over-the-top bottle brush tree, created by a seller in Texas who only lists her trees on Ebay during the holidays. I love the vintage tinsel wreath and diorama along with all these vintage outdoor Santa decorations, no, I didn’t get any of these outdoor Santa’s or the wreath but I spotted them this year and really liked them. To return to a simpler time!! Take me to yesteryear!! Wishing you all a safe and wonderful Christmas, hoping you get to enjoy your time with your family and friends!!

Vintage Easter Bunny Collectibles from the 1950s-1960s

I wanted to share some vintage Easter collectibles from the 1950s-1960s. No, these items you see pictured here are not part of my collection…yet, but they are so cute and charming that I am seriously considering starting a collection of these vintage cuties. Many of the items pictured are made by the ceramic manufacturers of the time like Holt Howard, Napco, Lefton, Relpo, Relco, Inarco, Norcrest, Reubens and more. Vintage collectibles like these can be found today online on eBay, Etsy, and Rubylane as well as antique and collectible shops for $25+ and the Holt Howard, Napco and Lefton items will be priced between $35-$125+.  Do you have a vintage Easter collection? I would love to hear about your collection and see your pics too. Hope you all have a happy and safe Easter!!

Vintage 1950s Christmas Candy Cane Figurines

I am loving these cute vintage Christmas figurines that have a “candy cane” theme.  Many of these are made in Japan by the great manufacturers of the era like Napco, Norcrest, Lefton Wales, Inarco, Kriess, Holt Howard, Relco, Replo, Ucago, and Commadore.  These vintage candy cane themed figurines and decorations are increasing in value each year and a couple years ago you could pick them up for $25-$40 dollars and today they can go over $200, especially the Lefton Christmas kids riding on a candy cane. Keeping my eyes open for one!!

Sonoma Wine Country Flea Market & Antiques

It was a whirlwind of a weekend! Circumstances brought us to beautiful Sebastopol in Sonoma County with lush vineyards and gorgeous landscapes in Northern California. Once “business” was handled, we were able to drive around a little and enjoy the quaint town of Sebastopol. There must have been 5-7 Antique shops in this little town!! The locals are so friendly and you see many signs that say “natural”, “organic”, and “farm fresh”. We ate more whole wheat, grains, and organic veggies in one weekend then we have the entire time we have been in Texas! Texas is full of steak, Tex-Mex , and fried foods and you need to go and search for organic and healthy foods as they are not readily served in restaurants.

It was rather early in the morning as we were heading out and saw a “Flea Market” sign so I had my husband turn a sharp right into the parking lot. The flea market was just getting setup so there were not many vendors ready for business yet. We did see lots of fresh herbs and plants being sold as well as the usual flea market items of socks, shirts, and toys. It appeared the flea market was year-round and it looked like there was room for a lot of vendor booths/tables so it probably gets busy later in the morning.

As we were leaving Sebastopol to head into San Francisco we noticed one of the antique shops was just opening so we pulled into Windmill Antiques.  The owner was such a friendly lady from Louisiana and had been living in Sebastopol for 16 years. Her shop was cute; she had lots of collectibles, teacups, kitchen goodies, Pyrex, and miniature dollhouse furniture. She was so nice and let us go inside and shop early as her shop was not open for another hour. I bought a super cute vintage 1950s Norcrest poodle dog cotton ball holder that will look fabulous as part of a vintage vanity set.

Our day ended in Little Italy in San Francisco enjoying a cappuccino and cannoli!

Vintage St. Patrick’s Day Cuties

Looking at vintage St. Patrick’s Day figurines from Lefton and Napco make me smile. I especially like the Napco St. Patrick Angel complete with her rhinestone studded clover and dress!  I am also seeing some gorgeous vintage clover china dinnerware that would be nice to add to a St. Patrick’s Day tablescape. With St. Patrick’s Day next week, I am sure more and more vintage “Irish” cuties will be appearing!! Hope you are all having a great day!!
