Curvy Girl Floral Print 1950s Summer Dress

Hello summer!! Nothing says it’s summertime quite like a lovely sundress. I had wanted to try the Ella dress style from Pinup Girl Clothing for sometime as I love the dainty bodice, sweet bow detail and full skirt but it wasn’t until now that I got my hands on the Ella Vintage Style Sun Dress with Pockets in Fuchsia Floral Print Pinup Couture and it just might be one of my most favorite styles.

My Favorite Vintage Style Blouses for Busty Babes

Yasmina Greco Heart of House Mollie Blouse

Being a busty gal it is rare to find a blouse that can actually be buttoned up without gaping or squishing or pulling at the buttons and still be comfortable. I am so excited to tell you all about my new favorite blouse for busty galls and it is called the Mollie Blouse from Heart of Haute.

Yasmina Greco Heart of House Mollie Blouse

Heart of Haute is the fabulous all woman owned company (I have written about HOH many times on my blog) where items are made in the USA and they have a variety of vintage and retro inspired beautifully made clothing. Today I am thrilled to tell you all about the Mollie Blouse in Audrey’s Kiss White. I immediately fell in love with the print, black cateye sunglasses and red lip against a crisp white background!! The blouse is a nice heavier cotton fabric and boy does it hold its shape nicely. It was literally the first time in my life that I was able to button up a blouse without any pulling, tugging, adjusting, or squishing and the collar actually laid down flat, this has never ever happened to me with a blouse before. The blouse was so comfortable and can be worm tucked in or out as it is finished with a pointed hem. The sleeves fit so comfortably too. Many times when shopping for blouses the fit of the sleeve can be tight and restricting but not with the Mollie, it is a cap sleeve that is so very comfortable and I could even stretch my arms way out in front and up high without any issues.

I know it is snowing even blizzarding in many parts right now but living in California we are truly blessed with gorgeous weather. This weekend it felt like Spring was in the air and I was so excited to wear my new Marie Dress in Olive Flora from one of my very favorite brands Heart of Haute and even made a little video for you all here.

I have featured many fabulous outfits from Heart of Haute on my blog from the Betsey Blouse, to the Donna Dress, to the Dragonfly Marie Dress, and also the Amanda Dress. I love Heart of Haute so much because they make such beautiful clothing for sizes XS-4X and have the vintage flair in all their designs. I know I can always order my standard 2X size and I will look chic and fashionable in it.

Curves and Colors for the Holidays

Yasmina Greco Holiday Christmas Lyra Dress Petaluma Lady Voluptuous

It has been a very busy couple of weeks with lots of shopping and holiday preparations. We spent an afternoon in Petaluma this past weekend shopping and enjoying the season. We shopped, had lunch and Christmas coffee too. I like dressing up but still being comfortable for holiday activities and today I am wearing my Lyra dress from Lady Voluptuous. I love the colors and print on this dress with bright florals and the fit… It is a wrap and you all know that is my go-to style,  it is flattering for all shapes but I find it especially fits perfectly on my curves. It was not very cold so I added a cropped cardigan in a complimentary color and off we went.

Review: The Astro Motel – a Dynamite Mid-Century Modern Hotel

Yasmina Greco The Astro Motel

The Astro Motel is a mid-century modern boutique motel with the nostalgia from yesteryear but updated for today’s modern living. The Astro is located in the heart of Santa Rosa, CA, right in beautiful Sonoma County. My hubby Gary Greco and I stayed at this amazing hotel for our recent Pinup photo-shoot and were delighted by what this hotel had to offer.  The 34 room motel dates to the early 1960s and has been given a complete renovation and over-haul by the team behind the well-known Spinster Sisters restaurant, Liza Hinman and celebrity cyclist Andy Hampsten. The Astro is right next to sprawling Julliard Park in the trendy neighborhood known as SofA (South of A) and is a couple minute stroll from downtown Santa Rosa while being located perfectly for all the activities sunny wine country is known for (wine tasting, vineyards, restaurants, shopping, festivals and more) it is a perfect destination for day-trippers from all over the Bay Area. The charm of SofA is captivating with all its artistic flair and fun finds like Art Alley for photos and be sure to pick up some souvenirs from the local shops. No trip would be complete without a meal at the scrumptious Spinster Sisters restaurant right around the corner.  The motel’s décor and art fit perfectly with the mid-century aesthetic and you will find finishes from local artisans that include bathroom tiles, concrete sinks, and more. The former Astro parking lot turned courtyard has beautiful landscaping and a garden with fruit trees and intimate seating areas for a perfect spot to start your day with a cup of coffee or unwind with your new favorite Sonoma County wine.
