It seems more and more of us are spending time in the kitchen preparing home cooked meals for the cost and/ health benefits. Retro style meals from the 1950s,1960s, and 1970s are making a comeback and cookbooks from these generations are as well. We have Retro culture to thank for foods like Meatloaf, Jell-O, Fruit Cups, Fruit Salads, TV Mix, Broiled Grapefruit, Crazy Craters, Moon Cakes, Spam, Silver Dollar Hamburgers, BBQ, Toothpick-ready Hordevors and Cocktails to name a few.

Chef quality cookbooks are highly sought after as they tend to be extremely detailed so keep your eyes open for early editions of Julia Child as this is very “hot” right now since the movie Julie and Julia premiered. Cookbooks that are first editions and signed will fetch top dollar.
