Vintage + Designer Brands at The Salvation Army Boutique Store

I am still working on my ‘Best Of’ post that follows the amazing antique show I attended last weekend so I wanted to let you all know that I haven’t forgotten to do it. Visiting family fills up my day while I am in the Oregon and finding ‘just a moment’ to write up a post has not been easy. But, more to come!!

Okay, so, over the past couple days I have been passing this place ‘The Salvation Army Boutique Store’ and tonight I went inside. Nope, it is not just another thrift store. This place has a lot of excellent items!! I stopped in 2 hours before closing and I am told by shoppers and employees that there is usually so much more furniture and housewares and by now, it is really all picked over. I was impressed with the friendliness and knowledgeableness of the staff when it comes to antiques and collectibles. I could hear one employee explaining to a shopper that the reason her green glass vase was so exquisite is because it was made by Fenton and is called ‘Carnival Glass’. Wow!

Even though the store was already picked over and it being Wednesday when everything is 50% off as well, I still saw many neat items in excellent condition. I saw designer handbags from Coach, Dooney and Burke, and there were even a couple Louis Vuitton items in the glass cases up by the register to Steve Madden and Salvatore Ferragamo shoes as well as many The North Face, Puma, Fila, Adidas sports wear clothing items to really nice furniture. A couple of the tables and cabinets were really in excellent condition and would make for fantastic projects and Shabby Chic makeovers or repaint them and even do some painted artwork on them. Lots of neat vintage items too at this place.

Let’s talk about prices now-

I thought everything was priced incredibly reasonably. I have been to many antique shops and thrift stores around the country and am usually in utter shock at high many places price their items but at The Salvation Army Boutique Store it is very reasonable and on Wednesday’s you get 50% off and this discount applies to everyone not just senior citizens or items with colored dots.

The store is very clean and bright. Staff are really ‘Johnny on the Spot’ when it comes to abandoned carts and items in the wrong sections. They really keep the place clean and well organized. Such friendly staff too!! You are really made to feel welcomed and someone is nearby should you have questions. Even the shoppers are in good moods and smile at each other and it didn’t feel like a competition on who would get a particular item first like I have felt at other thrift stores. Folks seem to know that pretty much everyday is a good day for finding treasures.  I will be stopping back into this store!!

Tomorrow, I stop at Monticello Antique Market Place. I wonder how this antique mall is transformed for summertime….last time I visited was during the holidays and it was like a winter wonderland. I will be posting pics so please check back!!
