Too Cute to Spook Pinup Girl Style

Pinup Couture Jenny Skirt in Lantern Border Print

October means lots of fun Halloween and Fall Pinup shoots so there is a lot more to come on my blog this season!!

I have always loved the vintage Halloween paper mache jack-o-lanterns and candy boxes from the 1940s and 1950s that were created in all kinds of spooky and fun Halloween images of ghosts, goblins, witches, skeletons and black cats. When I saw this Pinup Couture Jenny Lantern Border Print skirt with its fabulous purple background and those exact Halloween candy containers from the 40s-50s I new it would be one that I absolutely had to have in my Pinup collection.

The skirt is the Pinup Couture Jenny Skirt in Lantern Border Print from Pinup Girl clothing and the artwork is by the incredibly talented Stephanie Buscema whom I’ve wrote about on my blog before as she collaborates with Pinup Girl Clothing to make one-of-a-kind knockout pieces!! This skirt is designed after the full circle skirts from the 1950s so there is no lack of quality material and you can really twirl in this one. I find the new waistbands on these skirts to have good stretch so they are very comfortable and the cotton sateen fabric wears really well.

Styling this skirt is no problem as you can pick a color from the print and have your outfit. For this shoot I styled it simply as I wanted the skirt to be the standout. I am wearing the skirt and top in a 2XL and it fits my curves incredibly!! I am wearing a full petticoat underneath, as I love the extra fluff. For my hair I have a fun orange and spider bow… very Halloween. Our set is also simple but includes some mid-century modern pieces and vintage Ben Cooper Halloween costumes and some pumpkins. Skirt is made in the USA. Hurry and snapped yours up as the Holiday styles sell out quickly!!
