Celebrating Season 5 of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel with Midge’s Famous Brisket, the Best Pink Pyrex, and Amazing Fashion

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is one of the most talked-about shows on Amazon Prime. The witty humor, captivating fashion, and delicious food recipes have won over the hearts of many fans worldwide. I have loved this show!! As season 5 of the show is coming to an end, fans are eager to pay homage to the show and its characters by recreating some of their favorite recipes, especially the famous brisket recipe. In this blog post, I explore how to make The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel brisket recipe and I will be using the exact vintage Pyrex Pink Daisy 2.5 QT Casserole from my personal collection (just in time for the debut of season 5 on Friday, April 14) that Midge uses on the show.

And really quick, if you already saw episode 1 of Season 5, then the wait has been totally worth it right, Midge’s fashions and style are to die-for and all the fabulous vintage Pyrex and kitchenware is swoon worthy!!

Step 1: Gather the Ingredients

I am using the recipe that was posted on Twitter by @MaisalTV account

The first step in making the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel brisket recipe is to gather all the necessary ingredients. The best way to ensure the best taste is to use high-quality ingredients.

Step 2: Prepare the Brisket

The second step is to prepare the brisket. Before you begin cooking your brisket, make sure to let it sit out at room temperature for a few minutes. This ensures even cooking throughout. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Then, season your brisket with salt and pepper. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat, and sear the brisket for about 4 minutes per side until brown.

Step 3: Combine the Ingredients

The next step is to combine all the ingredients. In a bowl, mix together. Once the mixture is fully combined, pour it over the seared brisket.

Step 4: Cook the Brisket

The fourth step is to cook the brisket. I am using my vintage pink Pyrex Daisy 2.5 QT casserole for this recipe but if you are following the recipe then cover the brisket with aluminum foil in a large dish and let it cook in the oven for 3 hours. After 3 hours, remove the aluminum foil, baste the brisket, and let it cook for another 30 minutes. This will ensure that the flavors are fully absorbed, and the beef is tender. This is an incredibly aromatic dish!!

Step 5: Serve and Enjoy!

I needed to taste this dish right away as soon as it was done cooking although the recipe says refrigerate overnight and serve warmed the following day (I will do that too). I will admit I was a little skeptical of all these ingredients (I don’t normally ever cook with beer or drink beer, and cranberry sauce is usually only for Thanksgiving my house) but WOW! The sweet-tangy taste really made my taste buds perk up and happy!! The final step is to serve and enjoy your Marvelous Mrs. Maisel brisket recipe. Once the brisket is fully cooked, remove it from the oven and let it rest for at least 15 minutes. Slice it into thin pieces, and serve it with your favorite side dishes. Some perfect side dishes for this recipe include roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or even classic mac and cheese.

In conclusion, the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel has become an instant classic with its witty humor, vibrant fashion, and iconic food recipes. The brisket recipe is one of the most famous recipes from the show, and we can all make it in our own kitchens at home. By following the above steps and using high-quality ingredients, you can impress your friends and family with a delicious and nostalgic dish. So, as Season 5 of the show comes to an end, let’s celebrate by making the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel brisket recipe together!
