I love a good plaid and it isn’t always easy to find them in non-Christmas colors. Well, Sourpuss Clothing has a fantastic selection of everyday plaids and they are available in dresses and skirts and I couldn’t be more excited to share with you this epic photo shoot by my sweet hubby Gary Greco and the incredible mid-century modern location!!

We shot these outfits at the out-of-this-world The Astro Motel right here in beautiful Santa Rosa, CA in gorgeous wine country. The Astro Motel is one our favorite go-to locations for fashion shoots (and we always recommend it to friends and family from out of town) I’ve done a previous photo shoot post where you can see pictures and read more here.  The Astro Motel is a delightful mid-century modern themed motel that takes you back to yesteryear but with the modern comforts of today. The motel is close to shopping, restaurants, antiquing, and wine tasting. The staff at the motel are incredibly attentive and so sweet. There is an awesome game room where you can have coffee and snacks, read, and play board games. You’ll definitely enjoy your stay at this fabulous one-of-a-kind motel.

For my second outfit I am wearing the Sourpuss Plaid Bonnie Skirt Purple. The shade of purple is so pretty on the Bonnie skirt. I styled it with my black bombshell blouse, vintage inspired purple heels and purse for a true 1950s vixen outfit. I also took it to another level by styling the skirt in a street style way with athleisure top and the just released Nike Air Max 90 sneakers in Hyper Grape. The skirt is a lovely circle skirt and has pockets that are nice and deep. Fabric is also a lovely flannel plaid and 100% cotton. The skirt also comes in yellow in size XS-3XL and has really nice movement and you can see that here.

Gary and I had so much fun styling and shooting these outfits at The Astro Motel. The rooms all have true mid-century Eames era décor from desks, lighting, chairs, tables, artwork, and accessories. Wall mounted mid-century bubble ball coat racks, sputnik lamps above the sink, and even retro style wall tile. We especially loved this custom shower curtain with map and details of Santa Rosa made by a local artist. Attention to detail at this motel is incredible!!
