Visiting The Antique Society

No better way for one to become acquainted with their new surroundings then by visiting one of the largest antique malls in Sonoma County – The Antique Society.

The Antique Society has 125 dealers and just like their website says, there is a really good mix of primitive country relics, vintage clothing, notable art, old books, artifacts, Victorian, Deco, Mission, Atomic Age Modern to California Mod as well as retro, kitschy, antiques and collectibles.

The mall has a very pleasant vibe and you really enjoy wondering around. The place is very clean. There is even an outdoor area for garden antiques and nice cool breeze blows over you as you search high and low under big beautiful shade trees.

The mall was busy. Staff super friendly and helpful. I was looking at a book and could not understand the Roman numeral copyright date so a sweet older gentleman that works at the mall helped me out. Sonoma County is a destination spot (everyone loves wine country) so the area gets busy on weekends and folks enjoy popping into the various antique malls.

I picked up some vintage Christmas decorations by Holt Howard, some cute vintage Anthropomorphic Japan Apple face items, and a couple books. I saw some “to die for” items like an English wood burned Arts & Crafts table painted with red poppies and some gorgeous paintings. The lady that has the booth I saw these items in was telling me how the table was once bought by a celebrity (she wouldn’t tell me who the celebrity was) and then she bought it back from the celebrities estate. I still couldn’t afford the price she wanted for it but it was a gorgeous arts & crafts style table even if a celebrity did or did not actually own it.

I had a really good afternoon wandering around The Antique Society. I found prices to be rather reasonable and for every budget. This is certainly going to be on my list of favorite new antique malls!!
