We just got back from the Petaluma Fall Antique Fair. It was a very hot day and although there were busy times with lots of shoppers, we didn’t think that as many people attended this year. Of the ones that did attend, they sure seemed to be buying and I haven’t so many cute dogs in stores at one of these events in a very long time.
There were lots of vintage fans this time around. Many booths had vintage fans and some vintage Christmas (ornaments mostly and a couple stuffed Santa dolls). There was some Mid-Century furniture, vintage kitchen collectibles, Pyrex, pottery, retro and kitschy items too. Lots of vintage books, jewelry, clothing (more vintage clothing than I seen at this show than before) and French linens and collectibles. So, a good mix of this-n-that for everyone.
I took home a nice collection of Hamm’s Bear Bears, Hamm’s Bear shakers and figurines that include the Hamm’s bear bear hockey salt and pepper shakers, Hamm’s beer bear Wade England Indian Shakers, the Hamm’s beer bear Golf shaker set, the Hamm’s beer bear Seattle figurine, the super cute Hamm’s beer bear Totem Pole stacking salt and pepper shaker set and some Hamm’s beer bear figurines some are made by Wade, England . I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw this vintage 1950s blue kitty cat tea set with teapot and sugar/creamer that are made by Chase of Japan and came all the way from Canada!! I’d only seen these Chase cats in books before and now I have them in my collection. I also found the most adorable handmade vintage apron that is Pinup themed with red sailor anchors and a pretty Pinup girl that is actually hand-painted (her face an body are all painted) and she wears a darling dress with fluffy petticoat…. so cute!! Finally, I had to bring home this cute puppy dog grocer peg board as it is in like new condition complete with box and bag of un-opened pegs and is so ver cute.
Next up is the big Portland Antique show next month with over 1,000 dealers and I am headed there!!
