4 Tips on How to Nail the Classic Curvy Christmas Outfit

Mid-Century Modern Christmas Outfit

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! ‘Tis the season for eggnog, gingerbread, and most importantly…Christmas parties and photos! If you’re anything like me, you love getting all dressed up for a festive soirée. But if you’re also like me, you struggle to find a flattering Christmas outfit that fits your curves just right. Never fear! I’m here to help you find the perfect ensemble that will have you feeling confident and fabulous all night long.

One of my favorite parts about the holidays is getting all decked out in my finest clothes and going to holiday parties. Unfortunately, finding a flattering and stylish outfit can be a bit of a challenge when you’re curvy. Too often, I find myself feeling self-conscious and uncomfortable in ill-fitting clothes that just don’t work with my body type. But this year, I’m determined to find the perfect Christmas outfit that makes me feel confident and beautiful. Here are a few tips that I’ve learned along the way:

Silhouettes that Hug your Curves

1. Opt for silhouettes that hug your curves in all the right places. Like this absolutely stunning circle skirt from Heart of Haute in Country Plaid Tomato that nips in your waist, has multiple panels as a true circle skirt should, and also has pockets!! This skirt is a classic that is so comfortable and made from high-quality fabric that you can effortlessly pair with so many tops and you’ll be wearing it for many seasons to come.

Skip the bulky sweaters

2. It’s tempting to want to reach for a cozy sweater when temperatures start to drop. But if you’re looking to show off your curves this holiday season, bulky sweaters are not your friend. Instead, opt for a feminine fitted blouse and layer that under a soft cable knit vest. I am wearing the beautiful Estelle blouse in ivory and as a curvy girl I can tell you just how difficult it is to find a blouse that fits your curves without bursting open, and the Estelle blouse from Heart of Haute fits like a glove, is so feminine, and you never have to worry about a wardrobe malfunction (you can read more posts I’ve done on Heart of Haute blouses here). For a layer of warmth and festive burst of color the Vivi Vest in cable knit tomato is the perfect touch.  Trust me, you’ll stand out in all the right ways.

Festive Colors

3. Choose festive colors and patterns that make you happy. I personally love red around Christmastime; it is so festive and classic, and really goes with many outfits and looks. But, if red doesn’t work for you then you’ll be happy to know my outfit comes in multiple colorways so you are sure to find the shade that you love, after all, fashion should be fun, especially around the holidays!

Accessories

4. Finally, don’t forget the details! A pretty necklace, or pair of earrings can add just the right touch of holiday sparkle to your outfit. And don’t forget to style your hair and do your makeup so that you feel like a million bucks!

Getting dressed up for Christmas photos and parties is one of my favorite things about this time of year. But as a curvy woman, I know how tough it can be to find an outfit that fits well and flatters my figure. With these tips in mind, though, I’m confident that you’ll able to find the perfect ensemble for holiday festivities this year too. So get out there and show off those beautiful curves!
